Setting up the AMS1 card reader

The AnyRoad AMS1 card reader connects to your FrontDesk app using Wi-Fi and supports card payments through swiping, chip & pin, and contactless payments.

Setting up the AMS1 card reader (in other words Terminal) for the first time is a simple process. Firstly, you need to connect the Terminal to the Wi-Fi Network and then Set it up using the AnyRoad Front Desk app.

How to set up the AMS1 card reader

The first part of the setup will be connecting the reader to the network and pairing the device:

  1. Begin by unboxing and removing the AMS1 reader as well as the USB-C charging cable.

  2. Power on the device by connecting the USB-C cable to a power source. It's recommended that the device is given at least 4 hours to charge while you continue the following setup steps.

  3. Once the device is powered on by holding the power button on the right side, connect it to the network to begin the boarding process.

  4. Select the Settings button on the home screen to enter the admin settings.

  5. If prompted for a password, enter 9119 (using the T9 keyboard).

  6. Select Network.

  7. Select Wi-Fi.

  8. Select the network from the WiFi list and enter the password. If the network is not on the list, select Add Network and enter the name "Service Set Identifier (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network and the Wi-Fi password.

  9. Once successfully connected, select the Home button to go back to the main screen. You will now see an option to board the terminal.

  10. The device will then prompt you to confirm your store location. Double-check that it's the correct location and then select the blue check mark.

  11. The boarding process will now begin and can take up to 30 minutes. During this process, you may see the device restart a few times.

Pair the AMS1 card reader to your device using a QR Code

Here is how to pair your AMS1 card reader to your device. Follow these steps to connect the device using scan to sync.

  1. First, select the Settings icon on your AMS1 and then select Device info to open the Device info page.

2. On the bottom right of the Device info page, select the blue QR code button. Once the QR code displays, keep this open so you can scan it with your iPad.

3. Now, on your device, open the FrontDesk app and navigate to Device Setup. Within the Device Setup list, select Card Readers.

4. Select Add New Card Reader.

5. Select Card Reader Model > Adyen(Network).

6. Now select Scan QR Code and place the device in front of the QR code box on the screen.

7. The device will then pair.

Setting up the Terminal on the AnyRoad Front Desk app

  1. Open the AnyRoad FrontDesk app on the iPad.

  2. Click on the Navigation Menu button in the top left corner.

  3. Select Settings at the bottom left of the screen.

  4. Click on the Hardware option

  5. In the Card Readers screen that comes up, select the Verifone option and then tap on Verifone Not Connected further down.

  6. Please follow the instructions displayed in the pop-up window that appears.

  7. You should now see the Connected status next to the Verifone option and your devices are linked.
